A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼NE¼ sec. 3, T12N, R10E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) SE of Georgia Slide and 1.4 km (4,600 feet) N of Georgetown. Operated in 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Based on the location shown, this may be the same as, or part of, the Mameluke (Mameluke Hill) group.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body strikes N and dips E at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The vein is 1 to 4 feet thick. Coarse gold occurs here. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Production data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & D.W. Carlson (1956).
A small amount of Au was produced in 1896.
