A former Au-Ag-Pb-Cu mine located in sec. 3, T21N, R3E, SBM, on the W slope of the Black Mts, W of Shoshone, E side of Death Valley.
NOTE: Waring & Huguenin (1919) place this mine in the Funeral Mountains, some distance N of Shoshone; however, the locations of other landmarks (Ashford Canyon, junction and mill) indicate that the location provided in this file is correct.
Mineralization is a series of 4 fissure veins hosted in gneiss. The Treasure vein is the main vein at 30 inches to 4 feet (75 cm to 1.2 meters) wide.
Workings include a 180 foot tunnel with a 50 foot winze, and over 2,000 feet of tunnels and drifts. The workings achieved a depth of 2,000 feet below the outcrop.
Production data are found in: Tucker and Sampson (1938).
