Dolní Bory, Žďár nad Sázavou, Vysočina Region, Moravia (Mähren; Maehren), Czech Republic

(Dolní Bory (Hatě))

Pegmatites in Hatě near Dolní Bory are situated in Moldanubian complex of the Bohemian Massif, on the northern border of the Bory granulite massif. All the greather pegmatite dykes are nearly of the same direction towards NNW-SSE and the dip of 50-60 degrees towards ENE. Some of the dykes are more than 1 km long and from several metres up to 30 m thick. The pegmatites show a concentric zoning.

Pegmatites were mined for feldspar, mining closed since early 1970s. Dumps are recultivated and replanted with conifers. Tresspasing in the mining area is prohibited, however the place is not guarded and still some minerals could be found. Usually it means digging which is not welcome by forestry service.
