Steinbruch am Wingertsberg, Nieder-Ramstadt, Mühltal, Odenwald, Hessen, Deutschland
A quarry in diorite, which was abandoned in 1974 and is now largely flooded. Inside the quarry, gabbro cropped out, which contacted amphibolites and calcic silicate rocks, and was disseminated by veins with bismuth, silver, cobalt, nickel and uranium ores. Silver and cobalt ores were discovered by Ramdohr in 1923, while uranium ores were first found in the 1960s.
