A former Au mine located in sec. 12, T14S, R37E, MDM, about 6 km NE of Keynot Peak, on the divide between Keynot Canyon and McElvoy Canyon, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Inyo Mountains Wilderness). Owned by Alan D. Akin, and Dan Dickman, both of Keeler, California (1984). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
