A former Au-Ag-Cu mine located in sec. 24, T13S, R33E, MDM (projected - land unsurveyed), 0.9 km (0.5 mile) NNE of Kearsarge Peak (coordinates of record), E of Sardine Lake, along Sardine Canyon, on private (patented) land within a National Forest wilderness land (John Muir Wilderness). Property consists of 4 patented claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

NOTE: MRDS database file #10106508 attributes this mine to a "Beaveridge" District. There is no other mention of such a district.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in quartz monzonite. The ore body is 1.07 meters thick and is comprised of 3 veins, each averaging 3.5 feet in thickness, with high-grade ore. The gold is described as rusty. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 3 adits. The upper and lower tunnels are at 12,000 and 10,500 feet elevations. Early workings exposed the 3 ore shoots. Stopes on the shoots were 80, 20 and 55 feet long and averaged 3.5 feet in width. A shaft was sunk at the 10,500 foot elevation, from which stopes holed through to surface.

Production data are found in: Norman, L.A. & Richard M. Stewart (1951). No other production record was found.

Analytical data results: Hand samples assayed 4 ounces Au/ton plus 18 to 30% Cu.
