A former placer Au-Ag-W occurrence/mine located in sec. 33, T27S, R31E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) ENE of Democrat Hot Springs, on the Kern River at "China Garden" about halfway between river miles 56 & 57. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
