A W occurrence/prospect/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 14, T27S, R34E, MDM, 2.3 km (1.4 miles) SSE of Heald Peak (coordinates of record) and 5.4 km (3.3 miles) S of Nicolls Peak (coordinates of record), along the N canyon wall of Bob Rabbit Canyon/Dry Meadow Creek (6 miles S of Weldon), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body strikes N40E and dips vertically. Tactite is moderately iron-stained, rough-surfaced outcrops of similar material exposed in a small knob at the crest of the ridge 300 feet to the SW. Associated rocks include quartz monzonite. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open cut S40W into the side of a steep slope. It is 25 feet long, 25 feet deep and 6 feet wide.. 70 feet to the SE is a 10 by 10 foot open cut.
