A former lode Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 32, T11N, R12W, SBM, on the W peak of Standard Hill, on private (patented) land. Discovered by Percy Wegman, Mojave, California in 1922. The property comprises 8 claims covering 160 acres. Owned by Richard Moon and Roy Farley, Mojave, California (1949- ). Also owned by the Yellow Dog Mining Co. (1949- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

NOTE: There are 3 USGS MRDS files pertaining to this locality. File #10048774 presents data, in part, that are incongruous with the context of the mine's location and size. Various vein names in particular are suspicious, as well as comments about it bein prospected before it was discovered. Those data are not presented here.

Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite and porphyry. The ore body strikes N-S and dips 60E at a thickness of 3.05 meters. The vein is 8 to 10 feet thick with high-grade mineralization on the hanging wall. There is 6 to 8 feet of calcite filling on the footwall. Local rocks include Tertiary intrusive rocks (hypabyssal), unit 7 (Northern Mojave Desert).

Workings include underground openings.

Production data are found in: Tucker and Sampson (1949), California Journal of Mines and Geology: 29: 339.

Analytical data results: The average value of samples from the Spar vein were $3 (period values) per ton. From 4 feet of vein $25 (period values) per ton.

Reserves may be large.
