A Fe-Mn occurrence located in the S½SE¼ sec. 30, T12N, R5W, MDM, 10.7 km (6.6 miles) ENE of Hidden Valley Lake (ppl), and 1,000 feet NE of the Black Powder outcrop. NOTE: USGS MRDS database states accuracy for this locality is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in biotite-muscovite granitic gneiss. Ore is siliceous iron ore, too low in Mn, too high in silica to have much value. Large amount present. Associated rocks are Ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
