Longitude: 120°11'6"W
A former lode Au-Pb-Cu mine(s) located in the NE¼ (estimated) sec. 22 and in the NW¼ (estimated) sec. 23, T3S, R16E, MDM, about 3.2 miles S of Coulterville on the divide between Whites Gulch and the Merced River (Lake McClure (Exchequer Reservoir)), on private (patented) land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate, serpentinite and Late Jurassic granodiorite. The ore body is tabular, strikesN31W and dips 50NE at a width of 7.62 meters. The ore shoot is 25 feet wide. The attitude refers to the Adelaide vein. The granodiorite described in field K2A is for the Anderson vein. Black slate and serpentine for the Adelaide; black slate with small intrusions for granodiorite. On the Adelaide, pyrite heavily impregnates vein material at numerous points; gold occurs partly in the free state and partly in intimate mixture with the pyrite. Associated minerals are galena and chalacopyrite. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Local geologic structures include a faulted synclined trough.

Workings include surface and underground openings. The Anderson shafts were caved in in 1957.

Worked in the 1870's to 1885. Little work was done between 1885 and 1933. About 440 feet driven on the Adelaide in 1934, but no satisfactory ore shoot was found and the mines became idle.

Production data are found in: Bowen & Gray (1957). No other record of production.

Sampling on the Adelaide in 1943 assayed from $1 to $7 per ton (period values).

NOTE: Tellurite mentioned in an old report but not confirmed.
