A former lode Au mine located in the NW¼ sec. 16 & in the NE¼ sec. 17, T5S, R17 E, MDM, 5.5 km (3.4 miles) W of Mount Bullion, along Green Gulch (located about 2,000 feet E of the Long Mary Mine, just S of the Mount Bullion-Hornitos Road). Discovered in 1855. Operated in 1901 to 1908 & in 1936. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips nearly vertically. The vein averages 3 feet wide. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings in 1914 comprised of a 200 foot shaft with 3 levels containing 360 feet of drifts, 1 27 foot deep winze and a 38 foot raise.

Production data are found in: Bowen and Gray (1957).

Active in 1901, 1902, 1903, 1906, & 1908, producing 1,284 tons of ore which yielded $13,500, or about $10.51 per ton (period values) of Au. Mined for a short time in 1936 producing 268 tons of ore which yielded approximately $7.54 per ton (at the present price of Au [MRDS data timeframe, not modern values]).
