Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone. The ore body strikes N and dips 40-65E at a thickness of 0.1 meter. 4 cutter veins at right angles intersect two parallel main veins, locally called the Regan vein and the Hayseed vein. Meta-andesite greenstone forms the wall rocks. The quartz veins vary from 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) thick. Specimen ore occurs in the cutter veins. Good sized ore shoots developed in the main veins. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 91.44 meters, and comprised of the Greenstone tunnel at 700 feet long, with drifts and stopes. The Hayseed shaft has levels at vertical depths of 110, 220, 250 & 300 feet with 650 plus feet of drifts. There were 3 millsites.
Production data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. & C.H. Gray, Jr. (1957).
Much specimen ore has been taken from the cutter veins.
