A former lode Au mine located in sec. 31, T4S, R18E, MDM, on the S end of Whitlock Gulch, about 2.8 miles NNE of Mount Bullion, S of the Permit Mine. Worked prior to 1916 by G. L. Kennedy; later by Nick Mullins. Operated by Alma Clark, Clyde Smith, C/O T. C. Smith. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone. The ore body strikes N10E and dips 75-90SE at a thickness of 0.61 meter. The ore body is comprised of a vein with 2 branches froma few inches to 2 feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 30.48 meters and comprised of a 100 foot shaft with drifts and stopes.

Production data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. & C.H. Gray, Jr. (1957).

Produced a 1-ton pocket of ore in 1933 that yielded more than 9 ounces of Au.
