A former lode Au mine located in sec. 8, T4S, R17E, MDM, 2.6 km (8,500 feet) SE of Bagby and 2.9 km (9,600 feet) N of Bear Valley, along Rocky Gulch (on highway 49, ¼ mile N of the Pine Tree Mine buildings). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. This mine is now part of the land held in the Pacific Mining Co. group.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
