A Au prospect located in the SE¼SE¼ sec. 8, T4S, R18E, MDM, about 3.2 miles SE of Quartz Mountain [1], along the Merced River at the S end of McCabe Flat, between river miles 91 & 92, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Merced River Wilderness Study Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings apparently include an adit, the symbol for which appears on topo maps (except the Coulterville 15' quadrangle).
