A former lode Ag-Pb mine located in the SE¼ sec. 31, T7N, R25E, MDM, 0.1 km (400 feet) WNW of Monte Cristo (town site) and 5.0 km (3.1 miles) E of Wheeler Peak, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (an unreasonable value).

Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range). Located in the Cameron "Gold Belt" - ore minerals found are native gold, auriferous pyrite, argentite, chlorargyrite and, rarely, native silver.
