A placer Au occurrence located in secs. 20, 29 & 30, T16N, R8E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) SSW of Bitney Corner, N of Squirrel Creek. Owned & operated by Alta Combination Mine Co. (1920- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings may include the shaft and adit shown in the NE¼ of the section in the USGS Grass Valley quadrangle (1950). The tunnel to the Baltic Quartz vein was being cleaned out in 1920.
