A former lode Au-Pb occurrence/mine located in the center of the boundary between secs. 11 & 12, T17N, R11E, MDM, about 5.6 km ENE of Omega and about 11.6 km SSE of Graniteville, on the N canyon wall of the South Yuba River (2 miles W of Fuller Lake), on private (patented) land, within a National Forest area. Property comprises 16.95 acres. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. This mine is presented as being located in the Graniteville District by Clark (1970a) under both names (Blue Bell Mine and German Mine).
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10007448 presents MRDS file #10188556 as a related file under the primary name of "Washington Consolidated" and places it in sec. 9, T17N, R11E, MDM. The greater portion of this latter section is S of the South Yuba River near Omega.
Mineralization is hosted in slate & granite. The ore body is 4.27 meters thick. The veins are in a belt of slate between granites. The veins are 3 feet and 2 to 14 feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 4 (Klamath Mountains and Northern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 121.92 meters and an overall depth of 62.79 meters and comprised of an incline, drifts and stopes.
