A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 25, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 3.3 km (2 miles) ENE of Grass Valley proper, W of the county airport, on private (patented) land. The property comprises 11.46 acres (or 23.51 acres - 2 MRDS files). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
