A Au occurrence located in the E½NW¼ (estimated) sec. 34, T16N, R11E, MDM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) ESE of Midas, along the W canyon wall of the North Fork of North Fork American River (3 miles N of Elliot Ranch), on the crest of the divide between the North Fork of North Fork American River on the E and Blue Canyon on the W, on patented (private) land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10115595 presents geographic coordinates placing this locality a little further down the canyon wall toward the North Fork of North Fork American River. The data presented in MRDS file #10035026 are consistent with the indicated part of sec. 34, which has an undeveloped mine road/trail leading to it.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body strikes NW and dips 50E at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The vein is 18 inches 45 cm) to 4 feet (1.22 meters) thick. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 170.69 meters and an overall depth of 18.29 meters, and comprised of an incline and a tunnel (adit ?).
