A former lode Au-Pb occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ (estimated) sec. 33, T14N, R11E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.4 miles) S of Sage Hill (coordinates of record) and about 3.8 km (2 miles) SSW of Michigan Bluff, W of Jackass Gulch, N of the American Bar area of the Middle Fork American River (on the N wall of the canyon), on private land within a National Forest area. Operated during the period 1923 to 1925 and later operated during the period 1934 to 1935. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and Pennsylvanian diorite. The ore body strikes NE and dips SE at a thickness of 0.91 meter. The dikes contain much pyrite and weather rusty red. The veins are 1 to 3 feet thick. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 594.36 meters and an overall depth of 85.34 meters and comprised of a shaft, tunnel and adits.

Production data are found in: Logan, Clarence August (1936).

Production statistics: Year: 1925 (period = 1923 to 1925): ^0.5 ounce (14 grams) Au/ton. The sulfide is reportedly low-grade.
