A placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 3, T14N, R11E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) SSW of Sunny South, on the divide between Volcano Canyon and the West Branch El Dorado Canyon, on private land within a National Forest area. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

NOTE: Clark (1970a) states that this is a placer mine while the USGS MRDS database file is silent on this status and then indicates that there are underground openings, possibly indicating that it is a drift mine.

Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include unspecified underground openings (?).
