A former Au-Cu-Ag-Pb-Zn mine located in the NW¼ sec. 17, T12N, R8E, MDM, the NW¼ sec. 17, T12N, R8E, MDM, about 1/8 mile NE of Ophir and about 2 miles W of Auburn, on private (patented) land. The claim has a total length of 2,475 feet. Owned by the Ophir-Nevada Mining and Milling Company (1940). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a gold-bearing vein hosted in granodiorite and schist. The ore body strikes N70E and dips 45S at a thickness of 1.83 meters. The deposit has 7 veins a few inches to 6 feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings with a length 472.44 meters and an overall depth of 161.54 meters, and comprised of shafts with 4 levels, stopes, drifts, an adit & 3 raises.

Production data are found in: Logan (1936); Goodwin (1957).

The ore was estimated to contain 9 ounces of Ag/ton and 2% sulfides.
