A former lode Au-Ag-Cu occurrence/mine located in sec. 16, T12N, R8E, MDM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) WSW of Auburn, along the S side of Auburn Ravine, just E of its confluence with Baltimore Ravine, N side of Interstate highway 80. Owned by G. Giavani (1940). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
