A former Cr occurrence/mine located 1.75 miles N of SE¼ (assumed) sec. 5, T15N, R11E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) SSE of Casa Loma, on the W canyon wall of the North Fork American River, NW of the Euchre Bar (W edge of sec. 5, approximately 250 feet E of the SE corner of lot 20, sec. 6), on private land within a National Forest area. Discovered by J.D. Sullivan. Owned by J.D. Sullivan (1949). Operated by Charles Kempster and R. E. Linder (1918). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
This deposit consisted of a 7 to 8 ton boulder of chromite. The ore body is podiform. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
