A former Cu-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 32, T13N, R9E, MDM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) SW of Grizzly Bear House, on the Forest Hill Divide (6 miles E of Auburn). Owned by A.C. Shock. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in greenstone. The ore body is irregular in form, strikes NE and dips 60SE at a thickness of 2.44 meters and a length of 609.6 meters. The ore body varies from 3 to 6 feet thick. It appears to be about ½ quartz and ½ pyrite. The vein is 2,000 feet long and 4 to 8 feet thick. Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 15.24 meters and comprised of a 50 foot shaft, partially vertical and partially inclined. Some open cuts and one adit 130 feet below the open cuts and shaft, driven SE for 217 feet.
