A former clay-Al deposit/pit located in the NW¼ sec. 14, T4S, R4W, SBM, about 6.4 km SSW of Corona (center), along the E canyon wall of a small, unnamed canyon between Main Street Canyon and Hagador Canyon, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a sedimentary clay deposit. The ore body strikes NW and dips 12-15SW at a thickness of 9.14 meters. The deposit consists of a bed of pottery clay, overburden of 20 to 30 feet contains a 2 to 6 foot thick layer of impure bauxite and also a layer of blue fire clay to the NW at 20 feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 2 (Peninsular Ranges) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 4 (Peninsular Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 2 tunnels 150 feet long.
