A Au prospect/mine located in the NE¼NW¼N½ sec. 7, T8S, R21E, SBM, 0.6 km (0.4 mile) SSE of the Mule Mountains (coordinates of record), on the eastern slope of the central Mule Mountains (8 miles SW of Ripley). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes E-W, dips 50N, 50S at a width of 2.44 meters. The deposit is comprised of 2 parallel veins, the Roosevelt and the Rainbow. Local rocks include Precambrian granitic rocks, unit 1 (Eastern Mojave Desert) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include underground openings. On the Roosevelt claim a shaft was sunk 96 feet and another was sunk 100 feet W to a depth of 135 feet. On the Rainbow claim a tunnel was driven 130 feet.
