Kit Hill United Mines (incl. Kit Hill; Kit Hill Great Consols; East Kit Hill; South Kit Hill (Cornwall Great Consols)), Kit Hill, Callington, Callington District, Cornwall, England, UK

UK Grid Reference: SX374713
Latitude: 50°31'5"N
Longitude: 4°17'38"W
Primarily exploited for Cassiterite and Wolframite as late as the first world war, the hill has been mapped and is said to contain up to 1000 shafts, pits and other trials for minerals.

One of the final trials was the Excelsior mine tunnel see the separate entry.

Carpholite recorded here by Arthur Kinsbury (1906-68) is now considered unlikely. This is one of a number of likely or definitely falsified Kingsburty localities.

Grid reference is for the ornate summit chimney built in 1858 for the Kit Hill Great Consols/Kit Hill United mining complex.
