A former Hg mine located 1.0 km (3,300 feet) SE of Idria.
Mineralization is hosted in rocks of the Franciscan Formation (Jurassic) serpentine and sandstone, and the Panoche Formation (Upper Cretaceous) sandstone and shale.
Local structures include the N70W-trending Coalinga anticline and the New Idria thrust fault.
