A former Au-Cu-As occurrence/mine located in sec. 19, T4N, R12E, SBM, 14.3 km (8.9 miles) SSW of Saltus and 14.9 km (9.3 miles) S of Amboy, on the NE tip of the Bristol Mountains, W of Bristol Dry Lake, on military reservation land (U.S. Marine Corps Ground Combat Center). The property consisted of 9 claims of which 4 were patented in 1925 and 1926 (includes the America No. 1, No. 6 & No. 7). Owned by American Mine Operator, California (1982). Operated by M. E. Rogers (1988). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Last operated during the period 1936 to 1940.

Mineralization is hosted in alkali-granite (alaskite). The ore body strikes E and dips 25-40N. The deposit consists of veins and seams. The vein is cut off at a depth of 55 feet by a trachyte dike following a nearly horizontal fault zone. Associated rocks include volcanic rock (aphanitic) (trachyte). Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Local geologic structures include a fault zone.

Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 609.6 meters and comprised of 2 crosscut adits with appended drifts, 2 shafts, several open cuts and shallow shafts. A 50-ton sand-leaching cyanide plant erected on property.
