A former lode Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 2, in sec. 3, T14N, R16E, and in the SE¼ sec. 35, T15N, R16E, SBM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) ENE of Vanderbilt (site) (2.8 miles N of the Barnwell site), on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). The property is comprised of 20 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. This locality borders the Vanderbilt claim.

Mineralization is hosted in Neoproterozoic gneiss. The ore body strikes NW and dips 60W. The deposit is comprised of 2 parallel veins at 3 to 6 feet thick. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings comprised of 4 inclines within 400 feet of each other at 265 to 55 feet deep. There are several hundred feet of tunnels appended to the southernmost (deepest) and northernmost shafts on the Midnight claim. Ore was encountered at a depth of 90 feet.

Production data are found in: Wright, L.A., et al (1953). No other production record was found.

Analytical data results: The ore was said to carry $10-$20 (period values) Au/ton.
