A fluorspar occurrence located in sec. 8, T14N, R14E, SBM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) E of Kessler Peak (coordinates of record), along the eastern margin of the range, and about 10 miles S of Mountain Pass. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
