A Hg occurrence located in T2N, R2E, SBM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) ENE of Woodlands, along the northern margin of Erwin Lake, along the S side of Erwin Ranch Road, on National Forest land. Owned by Roy B. Stephenson (1953- ). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in quartzite. The ore body is disseminated. Controls for ore emplacement include a fault between quartzite and siliceous limestone. Local geologic structures include a shear zone. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Mojave Desert and Death Valley area) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
