A former Au-Cu occurrence/mine located in the E½E½SW¼ & in the NW¼NE¼SE¼ sec. 18, T8N, R22E, SBM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) E of Eagle Peak (coordinates of record), along the N side of Eagle Pass near its eastern mouth (4.5 miles W of the Needles Municipal Airport). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in gneiss. This deposit is comprised of Cu- & Fe-stained veins. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 12.19 meters and comprised of a pit and shaft (the topo map reflects a open cast mine symbol labeled "quarry" at the E½E½SW¼ location and a shaft symbol at the NW¼NE¼SE¼ location).
