A former lode Au mine located in sec. 34, T32N, R6W, MDM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) E of Monarch Mountain (coordinates of record), along Clear Creek, on National Park Service land (Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in quartz diorite. Ore is auriferous pyrite in quartz and dolomite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 4 (Klamath Mountains and Northern Sierra Nevada).
