A former Cr mine located in sec. 2, T38N, and in sec. 35, T39N, R4W, MDM, 1.7 km (5,600 feet) NNW of Castella. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. NOTE: MRDS file places this location in sec. 16, T38N, R4E, MDM, which is apparently in error based on the R value of 4E - should be 4 W. NOTE: The MRDS database also includes file #10116745, which places Unidentified Cr occurrernce (1) in sec. 16, T38N, R4W, MDM, but provides different coordinates. Synonymy unknown.

Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).

Workings include underground openings.
