A former lode Au-Cu mine located in secs. 2 & 11, T31N, R6W, MDM (coordinates estimated; sections projected) 1.1 km (3,700 feet) WSW of South Fork Mountain (coordinates of record), along Eagle Creek, on National Park Service land (Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area). Property consists of 4 claims. Owned by Western Star Lodge No. 2, F. and A. M., C/O Charles E. Hall, Redding, California (1966). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Mule Mountain Stock (diorite). The ore body is tabular at a thickness of 0.61 meters. Ore control was a fault. Gold occurs in 4 to 6 inch quartz stringers and in pockets. Several quartz veins are on the property with economic potential. The quartz veins carry sulphides. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 5 (Klamath Mountains).

Local structures include the Late Cretaceous Shasta Bally Batholith, intrusion, fault.

Workings include underground openings including a shaft 39 feet (11.89 meters) deep; an open cut 40 feet (new workings); old workings (1912): located 400 feet E of the shaft with 2 adits at 160 feet (48.77 meters) each, and 250 feet (76.2 meters) of drifts.

Production was an approximate recording of $800 of ore extracted before 1933.
