Pugh and Linsey Mine, Whiskeytown Dam, West Shasta Copper - Zinc District, Klamath Mts, Shasta Co., California, USA

A former lode Au mine located in sec. 27, T32N, R6W, MDM, 1.0 km (3,200 feet) E of the Whiskeytown Dam, on National Park Service-administered land (Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area). Property consists of 4 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. NOTE: Coordinates estimated; section projected.

Mineralization is hosted in porphyry. The ore body strikes E and dips 55N, at a thickness of 0.91 meters. There are 3 parallel veins. A fourth vein strikes NE. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 4 (Klamath Mountains and Northern Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings including a 60 foot deep shaft, 2 adits at 40 and 60 feet long, respectively. Overall depth is 18.29 meters.
