Mineralization is hosted in rhyolite. The ore body is irregular in form. Ore control was a shear zone. The Homestead lode occurs in a shear zone in rhyolite. It carries high Pb values. The Woodrow Wilson lode lies in contact of rhyolite with black and gray shales. It strikes NE and dips 50NW. This ore is similar to that of the Afterthought Mine. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings 304.8 meters long and with an overall depth of 10.67 meters. Developments consist of 2 shafts and 3 adits.
