A former Hg mine located in secs. 4 & 5, T10N, R8W, MDM, 0.4 km (1,300 feet) NNW of the Pine Flat area, adjacent to the Contact Mine.
The group comprises seven claims located in 1873 when a small amount of mercury was produced. The workings include nine crosscut adits and drifts on five levels that once extended for about 320 m. Remains of a washing plant and a retort are also present at the mine site.
The workings explored a ledge of silica-carbonate altered serpentinite occurring in a contact zone between serpentinite and sandstone. Both the ledge and the adjacent sandstone contained moderate amounts of cinnabar and native mercury.
Production data are found in: U.S. Bureau of Mines file data.
