Cangshang Mine (Canzhuang Mine), Cangshang-Sanshandao Gold camp, Laizhou Co., Yantai Prefecture, Jiaodong Peninsula (Jiaodong Gold Province), Shandong Province, China

Latitude: 37°21'22"N
Longitude: 119°53'50"E
Largest open pit gold mine in China. Located about 20 km north of Laizhou city.

The deposit is controlled by the Cangshang fault zone, which trends at 40° and dips 40-75° SE at the mine site. The main orebody lies between a hanging wall of precambrian metamorphic rocks (mainly amphibolite) of the Fenzishan group and a footwall composed of mesozoic Linglong granitoid. The ore zone is mainly composed of pyritized, sericitized and silicified granitoid, which has undergone variable degrees of cataclasis.
