A Mn claim located in sec. 17, T23N, R7W (MDM), 0.5 km (1,700 feet) N of Dead Rabbit Lake (coordinates of record), along Thomes Creek, on National Forest land (located claim). Discovered 1918. Owned by E. P. Logan, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Manganese occurs as lenses of brown, resinous, brittle material in thin-bedded chert. Very little oxide ore is present. The brown material is oxidized to a depth of a few inches. Some rhodochrosite veins are present. The chert belt is adjacent to a serpentine body. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include unspecified surface openings/operations.
