Mineralization is hosted in greenstone. The area is underlain by Copley Greenstone (a metamorphosed volcanic rock). Red, nickel-bearing soil overlying the area may be partly transported laterite from ultramafic rocks to the W. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
