A former Au-Fe mine located in sec. 17, T37N, R7W, MDM, 0.7 km (2,300 feet) N of Carrville, along Powerhouse Gulch, a tributary of the Trinity River, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite, serpentinite, and aplite. The ore body strikes N70W and dips 90. Ore control included a shear zone. A small mass of granodiorite intrudes serpentine. An aplite dike, 25 feet thick, cuts the granodiorite. Alteration is local (hydrothermal). Gold occurred in the free state. Associated rocks include granite. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
