A former placer Au-Pt mine (hydraulic) located in sec. 13, T6N, R5E, HM, 1.8 km (5,700 feet) ENE of Salyer, along the Trinity River, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is a stream placer deposit (Deposit Model: 119: Placer Au-PGE) hosted in Holocene stream gravels. Ore control was stream hydraulics. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings included surface hydraulic operations. over an area of 24.282 hectares.

Related tectonic structures include the Klamath Mountains Accreted Terrane.
