A former lode Au prospect/mine located in secs. 12 & 13, T33N, R8W, MDM (unsurveyed for townshipm, range and section. location projected.), 2.0 km (6,500 feet) ENE of Deadwood, in the headwaters area of Deadwood Creek, near the Shasta County line. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Alternate coordinates provided: 40°42'35"N, 122°43'17"W.

Mineralization is hosted in diorite and slate. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 4 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 300 foot adit, driven in 1883, and was reopened. Numerous older adits are now caved.

Analytical data results: Mixture of quartz and slate said to have given good assays in Au. Free gold said to have amounted to 25% of total Au in the ore. The balance is in sulfides, largely pyrite.
