A former lode Au-Cu mine located in secs. 8 & 9, T1S, R15E, MDM, 2.7 km (8,900 feet) SE of Hog Mountain, along the Tuolumne River (on the W slope of the river). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The ore body is pinch-and-swell in form, strikes NW, dips 45E at a thickness of 1.52 meters. The Au ore carries Fe & Cu sulfides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft 40 feet deep and 75 feet of drifts.
Ore said to carry $12 per ton (period values) (1892).
