Husky Mine, Elsa, Galena Hill, Mayo Mining District, Yukon Territory, Canada

Ref.: (in part): Rocks & Min.:64:489. The Mine is now closed and water filled. In spring 1977,"Little Joe" Weinholtzner and Ron Shiletto collected some of the world's finer Polybasite and Stephanite from Stope 302. There were occurrences of these irridescent crystals in other stopes, and indeed other mines in the camp, but little was saved. Some of the miners are reported to have given wives and girlfriends these irridescent crystals for buttons and brooches.
